KAZAKH INVEST Held a Seminar on Investor and Entrepreneur Support in Konaev

A seminar was held in the city of Konaev to explain government support measures for investment and entrepreneurial activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was organized by the national company KAZAKH INVEST with the support of the Akimat of Almaty region. Participants included representatives of the business community, local executive bodies, management companies of the “Alatau” Special Economic Zone and industrial zones of the Almaty region, as well as the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken."

Speakers included representatives from KAZAKH INVEST, the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, QazIndustry (Kazakhstan Center for Industry and Export), KazakhExport Export Insurance Company, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, and the Industrial Development Fund. During the seminar, participants were provided with detailed information on current state support measures for investment activities, including tax and customs incentives, investment preferences, the work of the Investment Ombudsman, and legal and service support tools for projects. Topical issues arising in the implementation of investment projects at the regional level were also discussed.

Representatives of KAZAKH INVEST shared information about the company’s operations, efforts to attract and support investments, and up-to-date investor support tools, including legal and informational assistance and investment contract facilitation.

As part of the visit, seminar participants toured the construction site of PepsiCo’s new plant in Konaev — one of the region’s major investment projects, supported by KAZAKH INVEST. The American company plans to invest $160 million and has announced its decision to double the investment by launching the second phase of the project. In total, up to 900 new jobs will be created, and production capacity will be tripled. At full capacity, the facility will process up to 210,000 tons of potatoes annually and produce around 70,000 tons of finished products. The site is set to become a key supply chain hub for PepsiCo in the region, meeting growing demand both domestically and in Central Asian countries. Construction work on the first phase of the project is currently underway.

The seminar also served as a platform for open dialogue, allowing entrepreneurs to discuss their questions and proposals. Representatives of development institutions listened closely to the business community and emphasized that all raised issues are being considered to find optimal solutions. KAZAKH INVEST will continue holding similar seminars in other regions of Kazakhstan to raise awareness among entrepreneurs and investors about available government support measures.
